Mike has been working full-time as an emergency medicine PA in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex for the past 2 years. Prior to that, he served in the U.S. Army as a PA for 4 years. Most of that time was spent in family practice and urgent care settings. During that time, he was also deployed to Afghanistan for 10 months and worked as a trauma team leader at a NATO Role 1 aid station. Teaching has been part of his job ever since he became a PA, whether it was teaching combat medics in the Army or now teaching fellow PAs and NPs.
Mike enjoys running, cooking, and playing board games. His favorite part about working in the medical industry is meeting new people and hopefully being the best part of the worst day of their week. Teaching colleagues is a very humbling and gratifying experience. The more he teaches, the more he feels he learns. He loves sharing what he has learned with his colleagues and making the profession stronger every day.
