The sidekick is one of the most devastating kicks in martial arts. Powerful, fast and versatile. It’s all in the pivot. You must pop your hips to engage your core. It’s all in that split second pivot. You can’t learn that from a book. You need someone who has thrown tens of thousands of roundhouse kicks to show you the proper technique.

Learning how to interpret ECGs is very similar! You can’t learn 12 lead ECG interpretation from a book. There are some fine details that are so subtle that you need a coach. You need to learn in steps.

CME4LIFE’s Black Belt ECG program is a solution for those who need to learn 12 lead ECG interpretation for clinical application. We’ve taught ECG interpretation to thousands of providers and our curriculum is the most efficient and useful system to learn ECGs.

Program Overview/Learning Objectives

Our goal is to provide medical professionals with the tools they need to succeed, improving the patient experience and quality of medical care. Our 6-disc DVD set features educational lectures on 12 lead ECG interpretation and application. Didactic lecture, visual aids, and mnemonics will
be utilized throughout the course to improve participant comprehension and retention of the course material. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of ECG foundational concepts, cardiac medications for intervention, risk factors, and effective courses of treatment. Please see the learning objectives listed below and the attached CME application for further details.

  • Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of cardiac drug classifications and interventions. Participants will be able to differentiate inotropic and chronotropic cardiac medications as well as anticholinergic and antiarrhythmic cardiac medications.
  • Given the results of an ECG participants will be able to identify and differentiate unsynchronized and synchronized shock. Participants will also be able to identify and differentiate ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation based on the results of an ECG.
  • Given a set of symptoms participants will be able to diagnosis supraventricular tachycardia. Participants will be able to describe clinical indicators for this condition as well as causes and effective courses of treatment.
  • Given presenting symptoms participants will be able to identify risk factors that warrant an ECG. Given the results of an ECG participants will be able to analyze, interpret, and discuss the reading. Participants will be able to develop a comprehensive treatment plan based on their analysis.

Type of Software needed to complete the online program

A pre-test will be administered to evaluate and measure each participants baseline understanding of the topic prior to the start of the course. Upon completion of the course participants must complete a post-test, which will be utilized to measure comprehension of course material. Our on-line exam portal will be utilized to track participant engagement, performance, and the outcomes of exams. Credentialing will only be provided to participants that pass the post-test with a score of 70% or higher. CME4LIFE will develop future education materials to address educational gaps identified through collection and analysis of exam responses.

Estimated time to complete the educational activity (same as number of designated credit hours)

We estimate that participants will need 6 hours to review the 6-disc DVD set.
