This is practical, case-based emergency medicine you can apply immediately in the ED, urgent care, primary care, or military settings.

Week 1: Chest Pain Evaluation

Differentiate life-threatening vs benign causes of chest pain
Apply risk stratification tools for acute coronary syndrome
Develop initial management plans for chest pain patients
Week 2: EKG Interpretation
Session Length: 2 Hours

Identify normal vs abnormal EKG findings
Recognize EKG patterns of ischemia, infarction, and arrhythmias
Integrate EKG findings into clinical decision-making
Week 3: Shortness of Breath
Session Length: 2 Hours
Learning Objectives:
Develop a differential diagnosis for dyspnea
Recognize emergent respiratory conditions
Initiate appropriate diagnostic and treatment pathways
Systematically interpret chest radiographs
Week 4: Ortho Complaints and Wounds
Session Length: 2 Hours
Learning Objectives:
Diagnose fractures via radiographs and physical exam
Initiate appropriate management of fractures
Systematically approach wound care and abscess incision and drainage
Week 5: Abdominal Pain
Session Length: 2 Hours
Learning Objectives:
Construct a broad differential diagnosis for abdominal pain
Identify red flags requiring emergent intervention
Choose appropriate imaging and lab studies
Week 6: Laboratory Medicine Review
Session Length: 2 Hours

Interpret common emergency department lab values
Recognize critical lab abnormalities
Apply lab data to clinical decision-making
Week 7: Shock and Sepsis
